"Dear friends of music and culture,
dear guests, dear locals..."
... this is how Edi Schönach greeted the audience in the Michael Ende Kurpark for many years. On 26.01.2023, the founder, organizer and artistic director of "Musik im Park" closed his eyes forever after a short, serious illness. The commitment, passion and love he invested in this project cannot be measured in hours. It is measured by the enthusiasm of the audience, the popularity with guests and locals and, above all, the joy with which his fellow musicians took to the stage each time. A joy in making music together and in enchanting other people with music.
Edi Schönach spread the spark of music to everyone he met. This spark was not extinguished by his untimely death. It lives on in all those who were able to experience wonderful hours of music in our beautiful homeland in his spirit. Listeners and musicians who knew him will remember one of these wonderful hours with him with a smile at every concert. And we musicians are sure that he will stop by and return our smiles at every concert we give.
Edi, we will never forget you, you live on in our music.
